Mij name is not Jozef A Cornelius.
I will, however, be publishing my work under this new alias, starting November 2024. I changed the name because, for the last 20 years or so, practically all of my artwork has gone straight from my studio into private collections.
That will be different from now on.
From now on a large audience will be able to access all of my work.
-Limited edition prints (hand-signed, -dated, and -numbered) of everything I make, will be available for anyone.
-Only publicly available online auctions will be used to sell any original works.
-Digital images of all work will be available on this website and Instagram: @jozefacornelius, among other places.
So anyone who wants to, can see what I make online. Despite the limited edition of the prints, they will be for sale -hand-signed- for a few tenner, so anyone interested in my work, can afford them.
Why I make what I make…
There are many, many topics I wish I had a clear opinion about. However, most of these topics have a past, a present and probably a future. Knowing only the past and the present, doesn’t provide us with enough information to form an opinion, because we have no idea how things will develop in the future.
All my paintings, installations, photographs, sculptures etc. will in some way be dedicated to a subject that deals with the past, the present, and the future.
Maybe you have an opinion, maybe you have not even considered the subject further, and maybe -as in so many cases these days- you have long resigned yourself to the politically correct opinion expected of us.
So in my works, you will search in vain for my opinion, vision, or opinion, but I am happy to take you through the issues that concern me, so you can form your own opinion about them.
